Our Story

Proudly serving Oakley since 1968, our butchers has always stood at the heart of the village — rooted in tradition and driven by quality. From everyday essentials to something special, generations have trusted us for proper local meat and friendly service.

The journey began in 1968 under Lloyd Hill, whose commitment to quality and community built the foundations of a true village institution. In 1988, Wally (Clive Viner) took over, running V & B Butchers with pride for 37 years and serving Oakley with exceptional dedication.

Wally and Nicola retired in October 2025, marking the end of an incredible era. Their hard work, craftsmanship, and care shaped the shop into what the village knows and loves today.

Now, as we — Sam and Dave — carry the torch, we’re honoured to continue that legacy. We’re bringing a modern touch while staying true to the values that have made this shop so special: quality, honesty, and a personal service that feels like home.
